Minimum
Qualifications:
· University degree at the Masters Level in the area of human services
· Registration with the appropriate professional association of their area of human services
· Annual anti-oppressive theory training
· Ongoing development of knowledge and skills
· Training on an annual basis to meet or exceed the standards of their professional association
· Meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the Provincel of Nova Scotia, Department of Community Services, Provincial Standards for Residential Child-Caring Facilities; Children and Family Services Act and Regulations;
Definition
of Terms:
Care Management is the term used to describe the coordination for the care planning process which includes placement planning, family history and dynamics, behavioural and emotional concerns, academic needs, life skills and leisure planning, and physical health.
Clinical is defined as precise analysis of systemic and interpersonal issues in the lives of youth and families and utilization of this analysis into each element of the care management process, including consultation, collaboration and implementation.
POSITION
SUMMARY
The responsibility of the Coordinator of Care Management and Clinical Services is to provide leadership to correctly position the social work, psychology and program personnel and food services staff to be able to deliver the highest level of care and services to the Clientele of ADCRF facilities. As part of the Management Team, the incumbent is expected to regularly attend and positively participate in management committee meetings.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The incumbent is accountable to all standards and expectations of the Province of Nova Scotia:

· ADCRF Code of Conduct
· Code of Conduct or Ethics of their Professional Association

In all duties and responsibilities and any delegation of tasks, the incumbent is responsible to ensure that all matters under the Provincial Standards for Residential Child-Caring Facilities which fall under their responsibilities are routinely reviewed and that the Standards are met or exceeded.
1. Provide leadership to and supervision of:
· ADCRF social work and psychology personnel
· Reigh Allen Centre Program Director
· Reigh Allen Centre classroom program personnel
· Reigh Allen Centre Food Services personnel
2. Provide leadership and competence in:
· Facilitating analysis of systemic influences on the lives of youth, families and political realities of child welfare; broadening the interpersonal context and experience to the societal and structural experiences
· Facilitating integration of systems analysis into care-plan interventions
· Facilitating the recognition and understanding that interpersonal difficulties arise from pressures inherent in unequal societal structures and lie within a structural context, not within individually pathologized experience
· Operating within a strengths based perspective, in solution focussed manner
· Facilitating orientation towards building alliances with youth and their families, and with other community professionals in order to best meet the needs of youth and their families
· Knowing, seeking and development of resources; facilitating resources that are sustainable over time and encourage self reliance of the youth and her/his family
· Facilitating the incorporation of family culture into the care planning process
· Knowledge and utilization of progressive youth care approaches
· Commitment to the delivery of youth care through multi-disciplinary expertise
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work environment demands strong concentration and the ability to focus while maintaining a sensitivity and appreciation of the delicate balance required with the clientele. Work hours are based upon client needs. Must be able to work independently and under stressful conditions.
